Privacy Policy

Privacy is important to the World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy (hereafter referred to as WFM-IGP). WFM-IGP has tried to write a privacy policy that complies with US regulations and conforms to international non-governmental organization standards. This policy applies to all websites and programs administered by the International Secretariat of WFM-IGP. It does not apply to websites or programs administered by any other organizations, including those of WFM-IGP Member and Associated Organizations, as defined in the Statutes of WFM-IGP, or those externally linked to on WFM-IGP websites.

WFM-IGP reserves the right to change this policy at any time and without prior notification. Should changes be made, they will be posted on the WFM-IGP website with the date of revision.
Use of any WFM-IGP websites or participation in any WFM-IGP program indicates agreement to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Continued use of any WFM-IGP website or participation in any WFM-IGP program following the posting of changes to this privacy policy indicates acceptance of those changes.

Sources of Information

WFM-IGP may collect information from both individuals and organizations (herein referred to as “Supporters”) including, but not limited to, the following groups: contributors to WFM-IGP and WFM-IGP programs; Member and Associated Organizations; organizations or individuals participating in any of WFM-IGP’s programs; organizations or individuals who have contacted WFM-IGP via any WFM-IGP website, telephone, post, fax, email, in person, or any other means.

Types of Information

Contact: WFM-IGP collects contact information including, but not limited to: e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses, and other information that has been voluntarily submitted to us by Supporters through a variety of means, including, but not limited to: in person, by telephone, mail, email, fax, via listservs, or submissions through any WFM-IGP website.

Donor: WFM-IGP collects information from financial contributors including, but not limited to: name, contact information, frequency, and amount of contributions in a secure environment. Donations and purchases made by Supporters through any WFM-IGP website is processed through a secure server payment gateway maintained by a Third-Party Service (as defined herein). WFM-IGP does not retain credit card details of Supporters who make donations or purchases through the Third-Party Service.

Survey: WFM-IGP may ask individuals to answer surveys. Participation is voluntary. WFM-IGP may ask for contact and/or demographic information as part of the survey. Some surveys may be administered through a Third-Party Service.

Website: WFM-IGP websites are hosted on remote servers that are managed and maintained by a Third-Party Service. These servers collect logs during visits to the websites which are used to create aggregate statistics about the websites including, but not limited to: pages that are accessed, pages that refer visitors to the sites, the type of web browsers used, and which pages are viewed. WFM-IGP websites may use cookies. A cookie is a text-only piece of information that a website transfers to a computer's hard disk so that the website can remember the visitor. Supporters can control how cookies are used when visiting the websites by consulting their own respective internet browser software systems.

Listserv: WFM-IGP collects e-mail information from subscribers to the listservs. Some listservs are hosted by a Third-Party Service.

Use of Information

WFM-IGP may periodically mail, fax, or email, publications and other materials to Supporters. Unless otherwise instructed, WFM-IGP may solicit Supporters using contact information provided by Supporters, including requests for donations to WFM-IGP. Unless anonymity is requested, WFM-IGP may publish the names and/or contributions of Donors.

Access to Information

Only authorized personnel who need information to perform a specific task or function are granted access to Supporter Information.

WFM-IGP may employ independent contractors, vendors or suppliers (herein referred to as Third-Party Services) to provide specific services for WFM-IGP. Access to and use of Supporter Information by these Third-Party Services is limited to what is reasonably necessary for them to perform services for WFM-IGP. Information shared with a Third-Party Service is governed by the privacy policy of each such Third-Party Service.

WFM-IGP does not share, sell, or rent supporter contact, donor, survey, or website information with outside organizations.
WFM-IGP does not share, sell, release, or distribute listserv information; however, listserv users should be aware that submissions to any of the listservs may indicate the email address of the party posting such submission.

WFM-IGP will disclose Supporter Information if WFM-IGP believes in good faith that it is required by law to do so.

Security of Information

WFM-IGP secures Supporter Information on servers located in controlled, secure environments, protected from unauthorized access, use or alteration. However, there is always some risk that others could find a way to thwart these security systems. As a result, WFM-IGP cannot guarantee the security and privacy of any information stored on these systems.


To remove information from WFM-IGP systems, contact the WFM-IGP secretariat via telephone or e-mail. Be aware that removing every record of information that has been entered into the computers systems may not be technologically possible.
